What’s leaving Hulu – October 2019 highlights

Idiocracy (2006)

I wouldn’t blame you if you think Idiocracy is an incredibly stupid movie. After all, the main premise is about getting a U.S. Army librarian back to his own time after he was left in a suspended animation chamber. Not exactly the most realistic of premises.

Then again, folks have pointed out Idiocracy’s scarily-accurate commentary on the current U.S. political climate. Keep in mind the movie was released 13 years ago. Perhaps Idiocracy isn’t as stupid as some people thought.

White Men Can’t Jump (1992)

One of the best basketball movies of all time, White Men Can’t Jump catapulted Woody Harrelson’s film career and continued Wesley Snipes’ momentum. It also introduced basketball fans to a new glossary of trash talk, with notable quips including “your mother’s an astronaut” and “go back to Sea World.”
