Verizon's HTC Incredible 4G LTE might ship on May 10

Publish date: 2022-11-21

A couple of days ago, Verizon briefly had a HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE page up on the Droid Does website, only for it to be swiftly taken down. Though the page for the expected successor to the HTC Droid Incredible 2 hasn’t been re-posted yet, rumors are trickling out about the launch date of the 4G LTE phone, which could arrive as soon as May 10.

The news was first reported by Phone Dog, which apparently received a tip from a source about the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE’s availability in May. Bearing in mind that May 10 falls on a Thursday, the supposed traditional launch day for new phones on Verizon Wireless — as attested by the Thursday launch of the LG Lucid, LG Spectrum, and Samsung Galaxy Nexus — there might be some truth to this report.

Since May 10 is just two weeks away, it’s a bit odd that Verizon isn’t pushing the smartphone yet, especially given the rather high price of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which is expected to go for $299.99. On the other hand, on the rumored launch date, Verizon will pitch the Droid Incredible 4G LTE against other HTC phones that the competitors have in store. Here’s what the landscape looks like: T-Mobile’s HTC One S was already released on April 25; AT&T will release the HTC One X on May 6; Sprint might ship the HTC EVO 4G LTE on May 18. Yikes, that’s a lot of HTC phones.

If your heart and mind are set on Verizon’s HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, here’s what you’ll get for your buck: a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4-inch qHD LCD screen, 8GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 1,700mAh battery, Sense 4, and Android 4.0 ICS.

Having any second thoughts?
