When it first entered the laptop market, Razer was one of the very few manufacturers that could be compared to Apple in terms of design and build quality. Razer Blade 17 (2022)

Razer usually kickstarts the year with laptop announcements at CES, and 2022 was no exception. Among the new introductions is an upgrade to the Razer Blade 17, and boy is it one of the best Razer laptops. It can arguably be considered the very best one, at least in terms of raw power and features.

The already great Razer Blade Pro has been upgraded with eight speakers instead of the four in the previous year’s version. The 82WHr is 10WHr larger, and the charger has been upgraded to a 280W one.

Available specs are as impressive as always. You can get 12th-gen Intel Core i7 and i9 processors, 16-32GB of RAM, and up to a 3080 Ti GPU. Of course, all versions feature a 17.3-inch screen, but you can pick between multiple versions. You can choose between Full HD, QHD, or UHD resolutions at various refresh rates, as high as 360Hz.

This thing is a beast, and it’s as close as you can get to a desktop PC replacement.

Razer Blade 15 (2022)

Razer’s Blade 17 is great, but it is expensive, big, and overpowered to many. The Razer Blade 15 strikes a better balance between price, portability, and power. Their latest 2022 models come improved too, giving you a bit more for your money. The newer version includes a UHD 144Hz version with IPS technology. This screen can reach 100% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, making it a suitable device for those who want perfect image reproduction.

Processors have been upgraded to 12th-gen Intel chips. You can pick between the Intel Core i7 or i9. Similarly, you can pick between 16GB or 32GB of RAM, and one of three GPUs (GeForce RTX 3060, RTX 3070 Ti, or 3080 Ti).

Display capabilities can vary, as it goes with Razer laptops. You can go for the 144Hz UHD version, but 360Hz Full HD and 240Hz QHD ones are also available. All considered, you shouldn’t expect to see any affordable variants of the Razer Blade 15, though. Pricing starts at $2,499.

Razer Blade 14 (2022)

Razer thought there was a need for something between its 15-inch and 13-inch laptops. We’re not sure if that was necessary, but a particular specification makes this laptop unique enough to make it to the list of the best Razer laptops. Unlike its siblings, the Razer Blade 14 comes with AMD Ryzen processors!

More specifically, the laptop features either a Ryzen 9 6900HX (or 5900HX). It also comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. You can opt between a 144Hz Full HD screen or a 165Hz QHD panel. Otherwise, the only main difference between the three versions available is the GPU. You can get an NVIDIA RTX 3060, 3070 Ti, or 3080 Ti. The older Razer Blade 14 also features 3070 or 3080 GPUs.

The 2022 version of the Razer Blade 14 didn’t see many changes, but a few slight improvements are made. The most important addition is likely the new MUX Switch, which helps improve GPU support for the integrated screen. It also gets a fingerprint protection coating and a better 1080p webcam.

Razer Blade Stealth 13 (2021)

Razer hasn’t released another improvement to the 2021 Blade Stealth 13 laptop, but the old one is still great. It comes with an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor. You also get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The screen comes in a couple of different specifications as well. Opting for the Full HD, 120Hz version will leave you with no touchscreen. But you can get touch capabilities if you choose the 60Hz Full HD OLED panel. Both come with an NVIDIA 1650 TI, which is not as good as any RTX 30 series, but it can get you gaming just fine. It’s one of the sacrifices you have to make for a smaller laptop, and you can always get a Razer Core external GPU if you need a beefier graphics card.

Razer Book

If you’re looking to get one of the best Razer laptops but are more interested in an everyday powerhouse, the Razer Book 13 is your best bet. It’s a smaller laptop with a more elegant design. Not to mention it’s one of the most affordable Razer laptops you can currently get.

Specs include a 13.4-inch 60Hz Full HD display (touch and non-touch options available), an 11th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage at its base configuration. You can upgrade to an Intel Core i7, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.

The only downside to the Razer Book 13 is that it comes with no discrete graphics. Instead, Razer is going with the Intel Iris Xe Graphics. They also still have the previous-generation 11th-gen Intel processors. It should still be a good offer for moderate gaming and intensive tasks.

If you really want to get the Razer Book but still want the full power of a dedicated GPU, you can also get the Razer Core GPU enclosure and put your own desktop-level GPU in it. The Core can then connect to the laptop via Thunderbolt at home, but keep a mobile notebook when on the go. And if you’re into pink, there’s a version of the laptop featuring that color!
