The Chromebook market is growing like a weed, but it hasn’t made it easier to track down the latest and greatest models. The newest devices are often beneficial as you know that they’ll serve you for years to come. You’ll want to consider the specs you need as well as how much you want to spend. Here are the best new Chrome OS computers you can buy.

Samsung isn’t a stranger to Chrome OS, and its latest Galaxy Chromebook is one of the smartest refreshes yet. The 2021 Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is still gorgeous to look at (especially in the Fiesta Red variant) and features a Full HD AMOLED panel with a 16:9 ratio. Other features include a built-in stylus, Wi-Fi 6 support, dual-cameras, and a 10th generation Intel processor.

However, one of the biggest changes that Samsung has made for the latest generation is the price tag. The Galaxy Chromebook is no longer a $1,000 device — instead, you can grab yours for about $700 with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage.

Basically, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook feels a lot like a Pixelbook rival, and it’s now priced to win. Eric Zeman took Samsung’s powerful Chromebook out for a test drive, and you can check out his thoughts on it right here.

2. Asus Flip C436

This year’s Asus Chromebook Flip C436 is a great contender when it comes to new Chromebooks. The Flip features the same 360-degree hinge design seen in prior Flip models. This allows you to use it in several ways, such as tablet mode, tent mode, and traditional laptop mode. The Asus Chromebook Flip C436 is quite a looker, featuring a 14-inch “frameless NanoEdge touch display” for maximum screen size on a small frame. The body is made of magnesium alloy and weighs only 2.4 pounds.

Under the hood, the Flip C436 has plenty of power for a Chrome OS device, featuring a 10th generation Intel Core processor and 16GB RAM. Other specs include a 512GB SSD, Wi-Fi 6 support, an integrated fingerprint sensor, a 42Wh battery, and four omnidirectional speakers. Port selection is about average for a Chromebook — you get two USB 3.2 Type-C ports and a microSD card slot. While it doesn’t include a stylus, the new flip also supports USI-compatible styluses (with support up to 4,095 levels of pressure).

3. Lenovo Chromebook Duet

At first glance, you might think you’re looking at the now-retired Google Pixel Slate, but this is actually one of Lenovo’s new Chrome OS devices. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet is more of a tablet/convertible than a typical laptop. You can switch from laptop to tablet modes thanks to the included keyboard dock.

The Duet ships with a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60T with an ARM Mali G73 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage (a 128GB version is available). It’s pretty affordable yet comes with a good screen and great battery life. We’re not fans of the keyboard, and performance could be better, but we can’t complain much considering the price is under $300.

4. Acer Chromebook Spin 514

Acer’s Chromebook 514 Spin is one of the best two-in-ones you’ll find on the market today. It packs a 14-inch LCD with a Full HD resolution and the internals to keep up. You’re looking at an AMD Ryzen 5 3500C processor along with up to 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, which is plenty of space.

Of course, as a two-in-one, you can flip the display into a number of positions and let your creativity run wild. The touchscreen display offers plenty of real estate, and you can add plenty of peripherals with the USB and HDMI options.

5. HP Pro c645 Chromebook Enterprise

Those looking to get down to business have a great option from HP, and it’s definitely among the best you can get. The HP Pro c645 Chromebook Enterprise says enough with its name. It’s a serious machine with serious specs.

You can get up to an AMD Ryzen 7, as well as Ryzen 5, Ryzen 3, and other lower-end chipsets. RAM goes up to 16GB, and you can boost the storage to 128GB. Customers will get a nice 14-inch display that comes in HD and Full HD variants, and you can also choose whether you want a touchscreen. This is an awesome option. It’s not available quite yet, but you can sign up to get notified when it’s available, and it should be available any day now.
