The best dual-SIM Android phones

Editor’s note: We will be updating this list as more dual-SIM devices hit the market.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series

Eric Zeman / Android Authority

All three Galaxy S22 models offer 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with HDR10+ support, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (or Exynos 2200) processors, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage for the Ultra. You’ll also get great camera systems, as well as all the great features Samsung handsets have to offer.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series isn’t cheap, as these are premium devices, but prices aren’t as excessive as in previous years. The base Galaxy S22 has a $799.99 MSRP.

Vivo X80 Pro

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority

The Vivo X80 Pro sits proudly on our list of the best dual-SIM Android phones for good reason. The phone offers high-end specs, probably the best in-display fingerprint scanner you can get, a great main camera, and solid battery life.

It’s the best phone in the company’s lineup and is aimed at those who are looking for a powerful device. Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and plenty of RAM, it should handle just about any task with ease. The battery supports 80W charging and should go from zero to 100% in less than 40 minutes.

The phone does have a few drawbacks, though, with the main one being that there’s just too much bloatware on board. The availability is also quite limited at the moment.

OnePlus 10 Pro

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority

We recommend the latest OnePlus 10 Pro if you want dual-SIM capabilities. It packs plenty of other excellent flagship features too, even if there are a few sidesteps that seem to be ways to keep the cost down.

The OnePlus 10 Pro packs plenty of punch with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, impressive 120Hz display, beautiful designs, solid build quality, and excellent battery life. Even better, it still offers speedy 50W wireless charging straight out of the box. You still won’t find an IP68 rating on the unlocked OnePlus 10 Pro, but the T-Mobile version comes with one, suggesting that both models are waterproof.

OnePlus’ latest version of fast charging lets you fully charge its large battery at 80W wired speeds internationally or 65W speeds in the US. For worldwide markets, that means a full charge in just 32 minutes, while the US can jump to 58% after just 15 minutes of charging. It’s particularly impressive once you consider that we’re talking about a 5,000mAh cell. Hasselblad is once again at the helm of OnePlus’ camera technology. The ultrawide lens is even wider than before, and the 48MP primary lens can capture plenty of detail.

Samsung Galaxy A53

Ryan Haines / Android Authority

The Samsung Galaxy A53 represents just how good an affordable Android phone can be. It comes in at $449 and offers a well-rounded experience. The large 6.5-inch display sports a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

You can choose between 4GB and 8GB of RAM with up to 256GB of expandable storage, too. Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1280 processor might not be the most powerful around, but it doesn’t hold back the experience. Once you move to the camera setup, things get even better. The 64MP main camera captures good results in almost any lighting, and the 5MP macro lens adds a little more flexibility. You even get a 32MP selfie lens, which is significantly above most on this list.

Samsung packed a solid 5,000mAh battery into its budget-friendly offering, and 25W charging matches what you get with the Galaxy S22. The under-display fingerprint reader is surprisingly low on the Galaxy A53, but it shouldn’t be hard to reach.

Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

The Xperia 5 III packs a Snapdragon 888 Plus chip under the hood along with 8GB of RAM. However, if you opt for the Xperia 1 III, you can jump to 12GB instead. You’ll find three 12MP cameras at the back of both the Xperia 1 III and 5 III, as well as a ToF sensor on the Xperia 1 III that should help with portrait mode images. The SIM tray accommodates a dual-SIM offering hybrid, dual standby.

The weirdly named pair features side-mounted fingerprint scanners like most other Xperia phones. They also come with 21:9 displays that make the phones quite lanky. You also get wireless charging on the Xperia 1 III, an IP68 rating, and even a headphone jack. All these things combined make it one of the best dual-SIM phones you can get.

Keep in mind that the Xperia 1 IV has already been announced and is up for pre-order. However, we haven’t reviewed it yet.

Asus ROG Phone 5s series

The Asus ROG Phone 5 series is excellent, but a newer and better alternative is now blessing the world of gaming phones. Asus has introduced the Asus ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro. It comes jam-packed with impressive specs and features, as well as dual-SIM functionality.

Both devices come with Snapdragon 888 Plus, as much as 18GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a large 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. They also come with massive 6,000mAh batteries and triple camera systems.

Google Pixel 6 series

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

Google’s Pixel 6 series marks a return to the flagship realm after a year of the mid-range Pixel 5. The two phones offer larger screens, larger batteries, and a dual-SIM setup for added flexibility. Of course, it’s not a physical dual-SIM tray, but rather one physical SIM and an eSIM.

That said, Google has made even more changes to launch the Pixel 6 series. For starters, you can’t possibly miss the rear camera bar. It packs a 50MP primary lens and a 12MP ultrawide option on both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The Pro model goes a step further, adding a 48MP telephoto lens to the mix.

Under the hood, you’ll find Google’s first Tensor chip keeping the lights on. It promises better image processing and a more seamless Google experience than ever before.

Oppo Find X5 Pro

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

This is the best Oppo phone you can currently get, and yes, it can handle two SIMs at once. The Find X5 Pro is an impressive device with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset (Dimensity 9000 in China), up to 12GB of RAM, an IP68 rating, and a great design that looks sleek and futuristic. It also comes with a sizeable 5,000mAh battery.

Oppo’s camera bump is one of the most unique we’ve seen in a while, and it seems to melt into the device itself. It stars a pair of 50MP shooters along with a 13MP telephoto lens. You’ll have some problems with fingerprints due to the high-gloss finish, so be ready to clean often.

All things considered, this is a fantastic high-end phone with dual-SIM functionality, so be ready to pay a pretty penny for it. You’ll be rewarded with outstanding performance and a gorgeous design, though.

Oppo Find X5 Pro specs:

We do get one frequently asked question that’s worth addressing here, too. Many people are looking for dual-SIM phones, but some are looking for Dual Active SIM phones instead of Dual Standby. Dual Standby is much more common, and every phone listed here is that type.

Dual Active SIM phones are almost entirely extinct because carriers support new phone options to conduct multiple connections. The move has been made over to VoLTE by most carriers in most locations. That allows you to make two calls at once over data, which essentially was a key reason for having older Dual Active options, where it was more necessary to establish the connections.
