The ASUS ZenFone Max Plus

The ASUS ZenFone 5 Max has received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance, confirming the device before ASUS has officially announced it. The Zenfone 5 Max will succeed last year’s huge battery-toting ZenFone 4 Max and arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo.

The news was pointed out by GizMochina (via PhoneArena), but there weren’t many other details about the device to be found; it was certified on January 26 and has the model code ASUS_X00QD.

Reviews

The ZenFone 4 Max featured a large battery and dual-rear camera setup at a low price ($235), and we expect the ZenFone 5 Max to follow in similar footsteps. It may also carry a near bezel-less display in keeping with the industry-wide trend.

With the ZenFone 5 Lite also being spotted recently, it seems like both of these could be set to appear at the MWC tradeshow next month—and we’ll be there to find out.
