San Andreas coming to Android this December

Publish date: 2022-12-05

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas first arrived to the PS2 back in 2004, and is remembered fondly by GTA fans as one of the best Grand Theft Auto games of all time. Just a year shy of a decade later, the game is now making its way over to Android this December.

Following in the footsteps of GTA III and Vice City, San Andreas will arrive with remastered graphics, new touch-screen controls and a reworked checkpoint system that is designed to make progression easier in the game. For those that prefer to stick to gamepads, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will also feature full controller support.

Although Rockstar didn’t give us an exact day for the game’s arrival, we would imagine that the game will arrive long before the holidays hit — though we can’t say for sure. It’s also unknown what the exact requirements for the game will be, with Rockstar only saying it will be available for “select iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle and Windows Mobile devices.” Here’s to hoping that most reasonably newer Android devices are more than capable of handling the game.

To tide you over until Rockstar releases some kind of updated trailer for the mobile game, join us for a trip back to 2004 as we look at the game’s original trailer. Just keep in mind that the graphics are said to be much sharper in the upcoming Android port:

Excited to get a hold of the latest Grand Theft Auto port, or will you pass on this one?
