A device bearing model number SM-J727, believed to represent the Galaxy J7 (2017), has passed through the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), prompting rumors that Samsung may launch the phone there.

Though the FCC certification doesn’t inherently suggest that the device will appear on US shores, leaker Evan Blass has backed the claims, stating the J7 (2017) would appear in the States with carriers AT&T, U.S. Cellular and Verizon.

Recent specs rumors regarding the Galaxy J7 (2017) indicate it will house a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, and 3 GB of RAM. A 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera and 3,000 mAh battery are also speculated.

Reportedly, Samsung is aiming to ship 100 million Galaxy J smartphones in 2017, compared to 60 million Galaxy S8 units.
