The Fujifilm Instax SP-2 isn’t the newest mobile printer from the company, but it’s my favorite because it prints images in a 4 x 3 format, which is the standard in sensor ratios. You can print your photos from your phone or directly from a Fujifilm camera, which makes this printer quite a bit more versatile than a standalone Instax camera.

If you want to print items from your smartphone (even edited ones), you can connect wirelessly via the Fujifilm Share app. The app offers some basic filters and lets you make simple edits like contrast and saturation. But if you’re serious about photo editing, you should probably use a standalone app like Lightroom.

The SP-2 has an internal battery that charges over micro-USB, and while that isn’t ideal in 2020, it’s still better than non-rechargeable batteries. You can buy various types of Instax paper to print your photos on, from plain white to Hello Kitty style.

2. Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3

Fujifilm’s Instax Share SP-3 is the newest mobile printer from the company, printing in a 1×1 square format. These prints are larger than the ones from the SP-2, coming in at 2.4 x 2.4 inches. Fuji says it used this format to make the printer ideal for printing Instagram photos, which default to the same 1 x 1 aspect ratio.You can add filters and text to your photos through the app, and you can even search specific tags to find photos you want to print.

The SP-3 uses a rechargeable Fuji NP-50 battery for power, but you can also charge it with a standard micro-USB cable. While you’ll likely be charging it with a cable a majority of the time, it’s nice to have the option to replace the battery if you use a camera that shares the same battery format.

3. HP Sprocket (2nd edition)

The HP Sprocket is portable, convenient, and affordable. This is one of the cheapest mobile printers you can get, but it will still print great photos and keep the experience fun.

Like many others in this list, the HP Sprocket uses Zero Ink technology. The device can print 2 x 3 inch images with a sticky back. In addition, this version comes with upgrades such as a multi-device Bluetooth connection, which means you and your friends can use it simultaneously. The app has augmented reality capabilities and can show which image is being printed.

4. Kodak Photo Printer Mini

The Kodak Photo Printer Mini is a wireless smartphone printer similar to those mentioned above, but with a few minor tweaks. 7. Canon Pixma iP110

This printer came out several years ago, but it’s still readily available. It’s also one of the best mobile printers you can buy if you are looking to print documents and not just photos. The Canon Pixma iP110 is pretty light at 4.7 pounds. It can hold up to 50 sheets at once and can print both photos and documents as large as 8.5 x 11 inches.

If you need to print items from your smartphone, you can connect wirelessly via the Canon Print app. You can also print pictures directly from Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, One Drive, Google Drive, and other services. An optional battery is available, and it can last up to 240 prints on a single charge.

8. HP OfficeJet 250

The HP OfficeJet 250 is perfect if you’re looking for a one-stop portable printer. It can handle prints of both photos and documents, and can also scan previously printed items. You can even send a fax with this printer if you’re feeling old fashioned. All of these features are in a printer that weighs 6.5 pounds. While its heavier than others on this list, you should be able to transport it in a suitcase with no issues.

In addition to printing photos and documents from your smartphone via Wi-Fi, the printer can hold about 50 sheets at once. It also has a 10-page automatic document feeder for when you just need a few pages printed. You can buy an optional battery that will print up to 500 pages on a single charge.

9. Epson Workforce WF-100

Epson is another great mobile printer option for those who want to do both work and play. It comes with a built-in battery that can be charged both via USB and AC. It weighs only 3.5 pounds but can handle any document and photo print with a 5.760 x 1.440 resolution. You can manage prints using the dedicated app.

10. Brother PocketJet PJ773

The Brother PocketJet PJ773 is the most compact portable printer with the capacity of printing full-sized documents. Just look at it! You can throw it in a bag and take it anywhere.

This device can print up to eight pages per minute, weighs only 1.3lbs, and can print at a maximum of 300dpi (dots per inch). The battery is optional and costs extra, but it is a hefty one that can print up to 600 pages on a single charge.
