PacketVideo release OpenCORE 2.0 for Android
PacketVideo, who like to be referred to as PV, recently updated their multimedia sub-system for Android. For those not in the loop, PV is a multimedia software company founded in 1998 and carry with them a broad range of expertise. They are also one of the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA). In a rather technical press release, it eventually becomes clear that their latest software release is entitled OpenCORE 2.0, and the main benefit afforded by this latest release is the inclusion of a video telephony engine.The new video telephony feature incorporates a two-way engine for circuit switched video telephony, enabling video telephony applications based on the 3G-324M protocol. Furthermore, OpenCORE 2.0 also enhances the ability to take advantage of available multimedia hardware acceleration to achieve the best possible performance.
