New version of Razer Phone adds gold color to its back logo

TL;DR

The Razer Phone was one of the more impressive Android smartphones released in 2017,  at least in terms of its gaming and hardware features. It’s now 2018 and yet the Razer phone remains a compelling choice. Making a great thing even better, today Razer started selling a limited edition version of the phone, which replaces the normal Razer logo on the back for one that has a gold color.

Aside from that cosmetic change, the Razer Phone has the same hardware in the Gold Edition compared to the standard. The gold logo variant is being sold in the US and Hong Kong to celebrate the 2018 Chinese Spring Festival. Based on the images on Razer’s web site, the Gold Edition also comes in some nice looking red packaging.

The price of the Razer Phone Gold Edition is the same as the standard version at $699.99. There’s no word on how “limited” this version will actually be, but if you want one it might be best to purchase it sooner rather than later.

Just a reminder: the Razer Phone includes features like a 5.71-inch IGZO LCD 120 Hz display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a big 4,000 mAh battery, and stereo front-facing speakers. The 120 Hz refresh rate on the phone’s display is supported by a growing list of Android games. Razer has released a number of software updates for the phone since it launched last fall, including one earlier this week that adds HDR and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 support for watching videos on its Netflix app.
