What is LoginBox?

LoginBox is an application that first saw success over on iOS and has now been ported to Android. It’s a third party browser that also acts like a password manager in that it lets you store your website passwords and log into them automatically. It also has some other security features and browser features.

Let’s start with the reason why this browser is special. It allows you to save passwords and usernames to various websites and when you go to those websites, LoginBox will log you in automatically. If you’re worried about privacy, the app also comes with a pin that you can set. This keeps people out of your stuff and actually helps make the browser private. That’s a win-win.

Okay so here’s how it works. When you open the application you’ll be prompted to add a new website. You click to add a website, then go to that website’s login page. From there, LoginBox will record your username and password, you clicking on the appropriate buttons, and then it saves all of that. From that point forward if you want to use that website, you simply open LoginBox and tap that website. The app will sort of replay the steps you took when logging in and do all the work for you. You can then browse around and do what you will from there. The login recording process is actually insanely cool and when you use the app to login to the site, it’ll actually perform each task step by step just as you did it.

In the settings you can set it to backup and sync if you prefer and you can set a four digit PIN that will pop up whenever you try to enter the app. Once that’s set up, you’re essentially ready to go. You go and log into whatever websites, record the process, and then it’ll be there for you to access whenever you need it.

The free version gives you three websites. This lets you test the functionality and if you only need two or three websites then you can stay on the free version no problem. However, if you want all of the websites you want, you’ll have to pay a subscription fee. It’s $8.73/month which kind of killed the mood but one has to consider that most password managers operate under a yearly paid subscription model and this one is no different.

The subscription lets you create unlimited website logins, backup and sync between devices, and removes advertising.
