Amazon’s next wave of Android tablets is available to buy from today. We brought you the news of the new Kindle Fire and the 7-inch and 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablets when they were announced last week. These new devices are reasonably priced windows on the Amazon content store. The company wants to equip people with affordable hardware so it can make money on content consumption.

The Kindle Fire HD 7 is a 7-inch tablet and you can pick up the 16GB version for $199. The 1280 x 800 pixel IPS LCD looks great and it has a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a PowerVR GPU inside. There’s also support for Bluetooth, MIMO Wi-Fi, a 720p front-facing camera (Skype comes pre-installed), and there’s a handy HDMI out jack for mirroring content on your big screen. Check out our Kindle Fire HD 7 vs Nexus 7 comparison.

We are expecting the 32GB version of the Kindle Fire HD 7 on October 25 and you won’t be able to get your hands on the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD until November.

Amazon also updated its original Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire 2 is only $159 and it has a faster processor, more RAM, and a longer battery life than the original. It also has support for some of Amazon’s snazzy new features like X-Ray, which allows you to get further info on characters in movies and books, and WhisperSync, for keeping your place across devices.

You’ll also find the new cut-price Kindle on sale today. It costs $69 for the ad-supported version or you can pay an extra $20 to get an ad-free device.

Are any of these going on your shopping list?
