Turn your Amazon Fire tablet on and tap on the Device Dashboard button. It’s located in the bottom of the screen, to the left of the navigation buttons. Tile view of all smart devices will become visible. There will be buttons to operate them on the bottom of each tile. You can tap on the Edit option to pin your favorite tiles to the top. If you have compatible devices, you’ll see buttons for turning all lights or switches on or off. Additionally, there’s a shortcut for managing devices within the Alexa app. Other shortcuts include your categories or routines.

  • Make sure your Amazon Fire tablet, Alexa app, and smart home devices meet all requirements listed in the previous section.
  • Turn on and unlock the Amazon Fire tablet.
  • Tap on the Device Dashboard button located in the bottom-left corner of the screen (to the left of the navigation buttons).
  • Device Dashboard includes: Options to turn all plugs/lights on or off, tiles for controlling each smart home device, category views, and routine shortcuts.
  • Next to Pinned & Recent Devices, tap on Edit to pin your favorite tiles to the top.
  • Tap on Manage Devices in Alexa App to dig deeper into setting up your smart devices.
  • Fire OS 7 and higher Amazon Fire tablets can access the Device Dashboard straight from the lock screen. Press the power button, tap on the Device Dashboard button in the bottom-left corner, and swipe away from it.
