Hound, SoundHound's personal voice assistant, is now available for all

Publish date: 2023-02-09

SoundHound has been working hard at bringing its personal voice assistant out of beta for the past few months, and that day is finally here. Hound – the voice assistant app that aims to combine the best of Google Now, Siri and Cortana – is now available for all to download on both Android and iOS.

What aspects from Google Now and Siri is Hound trying to bring together? It’s trying to be a touch more personal than Google Now, and more accurate than Siri. These are two big aspects that both voice assistants could improve upon, and Hound actually does a pretty good job at providing the best of both worlds.

Hound excels at providing quick answers to complicated questions. You can speak naturally to it, and it’s even able to recognize follow-up questions if you need to add more information to your query. And if you need to ask a question when you don’t have a free hand, you can activate it by saying “Okay, Hound”.

If you’ve used Hound in its beta form, not a whole lot has changed here. The user interface looks a little better than it did in previous versions, which is a plus. Oh, and when you fire up the app for the first time, get ready to go through an extensive tutorial of asking Hound pre-chosen questions.

Hound is available for free in the Google Play Store, so head to the link below if you’re interested!
