EE's LTE SIM-only plans, once delayed, now available

UK carrier EE has officially launched their LTE SIM-only offerings. These plans require the user to already have a compatible device, however that aside, they all come with unlimited calls and messages and the promise of being able to enjoy “super fast 4GEE.” Aside from the inclusion of calls and messages, you just pick the data you want and/or need.

EE’s LTE SIM-only plans have arrived with four options ranging from £21 per month up to £36 per month. Or for a more specific breakdown, the four available options are as follows;

• 500MB of data for £21 per month
• 1GB of data for £26 per month
• 3GB of data for £31 per month
• 5GB of data for £36 per month

Some of the other perks that EE notes include access to stream and listen to more than 18 million music tracks (on plans of 1GB or more), Fast Track service by pressing ’33’ on your phone, EE Film which will allow you to download movies without using any of your data allowance and tethering. In addition, EE has said that a future benefit will include free access to any of the BT Openzone wireless hotspots.

Bottom line here, if you are in the UK living in an area with EE LTE and already have a compatible handset, now is the time when you can purchase service. Otherwise, those who were waiting for this time to buy a compatible handset, now would be a good time to start looking for a device. And if you are unsure of what to buy, EE has a has specifically noted that they have compatible SIM cards for HTC, Huawei, Samsung, Nokia and the iPhone 5.
