Disgo Tablet 9000 unveiled as a low-priced 9.7" Android 4.0 ICS tablet

Publish date: 2023-01-28

There was once a time when bargain-priced tablets seemed to have a place. But at this point in time, we are not all that sure that rings true anymore. That thought aside though, we have word of another tablet falling into that category. The tablet is the Disgo Tablet 9000 and it brings a 9.7-inch display and a £149.99 price point for those in the UK.

The display is capacitive and with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and with a pixel density of 131ppi. Decent, but certainly nothing to brag about. Otherwise, the Disgo Tablet 9000 also features a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and a Mali 400 GPU. Those who make the purchase can also expect to get a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 32GB in size and 8GB of internal storage.

The tablet also has a 2 megapixel rear-facing camera, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera, mini HDMI, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a 7000 mAh battery and is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. A quick note on the app situation, the tablet will have the Slide ME app store and Disgo Apps. In other words, no Google Play on this one.

Anyway, those considering a purchase or those who want to see this tablet in person — you will be able to find the Disgo Tablet 9000 at PC World and/or Currys. Finally, touching back on the no market for a budget priced tablet comment. That comes because of Google and the Nexus line. Simply put, it is not hard to realize that the specs on the Nexus 7 are much nicer and for just £10 more — that decision seems like it would be fairly easy. Go Nexus.
