Deal: Unlocked ZTE Axon down to $169.99 right now

Publish date: 2022-12-10

The original Axon smartphone was an important release for ZTE last year. It was to become the face of the company’s strong presence in the Android market. No pressure. Fortunately, it indeed turned out to be a great phone, especially relative to its reasonable $450 retail price tag. The fact that the Chinese manufacturer launched the flagship stateside was also a big plus.

If you had your eye on the Axon but the original cost was still too much than you like to put down, time has naturally hacked away at it. Today, we’re seeing a significant drop to only $169.99 for the 32GB model, via Newegg’s Ebay store. These are new units (US warranty included) and all the colors are available: gold, blue, and silver. Bear in mind that this is a GSM-compatible unlocked phone, meaning that it will only work on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. The listing is set to go through Sunday at 8am, but it also says there are limited quantities.

As a reminder, the ZTE Axon is a 5.5” device with a 1080p IPS LCD screen Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage (unfortunately, no microSD expansion), dual 13 MP + 2 MP rear cameras (to capture depth information), and a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery. A standout feature is the internal 32-bit/192kHz DAC for Hi-Fi headphone output.

It’s important to know that the succeeding Axon 7 recently launched, which underwent a slew of updates. But if the $399.99 price doesn’t line up with your budget, it’s good the price of the original is knocked enticingly low. Are any Axon fans going to jump on this deal?
