On Tuesday Blu Products announced a slew of new devices in its Blu Life line for budget-conscious users looking for off-contract phones.

The new top-of-the-line for the Blu Life line is the Life One X, a 5-inch smartphone with a 1080p LCD display from Sharp. Inside it has a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, dual SIM slots, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 13MP rear-facing camera.

Like the Blu Life View before it, the Life One X has an all aluminum body that comes in either White or Steel Blue. The Blu Life One X comes with either 16GB of storage for $269 or 32GB for $299. There are options for different GSM bands, but unfortunately the phone, like all the new Blue devices, doesn’t support LTE.

The Blu Life One M is very similar to the Life One X with the same processor and front-facing camera in a very similar aluminum body that comes in White and Steel Blue. To keep costs down the Life One M uses a 5-inch 720p IPS display, 1GB of RAM, and a 12MP rear-facing camera. Instead of storage options, the Life One M has just one 4GB model that costs $199 with a microSD card slot for expanded storage.

Blu also upgraded its Life Play smartphone with the new Life Play X and Life Play S. Both phones have a 4.7-inch 720p display, but have very different specs.

The Life Play X uses a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 5MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear-facing camera, and 1GB of RAM. The $219 smartphone comes with 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot for expanding the storage.

The Life Play S has a slightly slower quad-core 1.3GHz processor, the same cameras as the Life Play X, and the same 1GB of RAM. The phone costs $199, and only comes with 4GB of storage with a microSD card slot.

Last but not least, Blu announced a new tablet alongside the four new handsets. The new Blu Life View Tab is an 8-inch tablet with a 768×1024 display. The tablet uses a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 5MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear-facing camera, and 16GB of storage. Like the Life One X, the Life View Tab comes in Steel Blue and White and two different GSM models.

All of the new devices from Blu run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, but Blue promises that upgrades to Android 4.4 KitKat are on the way soon.

What do you think of Blu’s latest lineup, interested in any of their products or would you rather go with a better-known budget device like the Moto G?
