Plus, Toshiba throws in an extra mode just to be different: Tabletop mode for laying the device completely flat on a surface for everyone to see and collaborate.

Under the hood, you’ll see one of eight processor options ranging from the Core i5-7200U to the current Core i7-8650U along with integrated graphics. Memory ranges from 4GB to 16GB while storage ranges from 128GB to 1TB on a SATA- or PCIe-based SSD, depending on the configuration.

Despite being one of the largest laptops in this list, the device measures 0.69 inches in thickness and weighs 3.13 pounds. There’s still no room for a DVD burner or discrete graphics. The Tecra X50’s screen has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, and you can opt for a touchscreen. It’s also backed by a large selection of processor choices spanning the Core i5-8265U to the Core i7-8665U vPro processor.

On the memory front, Toshiba provides four options between 4GB and 32GB DDR4 sticks. Meanwhile, storage includes one of five devices: 256GB to 512GB on an SSD, 256GB to 1TB on PCIe units. Finally, the port complement consists of a microSD card reader, a USB 3.0 port, three USB 3.1 Type-C ports, and an HDMI port. The Tecra X50 has a starting price of $1,544.99 on Toshiba’s website.

5. Budget: Toshiba Tecra C50

This Tecra C50 budget laptop isn’t quite as feature-rich. Specifications show the 15.6-inch screen remains locked to a 1,366 x 768 resolution. There are only four processor options as well, ranging from the Core Celeron-3865U to the Core i5-8250U.

Two memory slots support up to 16GB of RAM, while storage is limited to hard drives with a 500GB to 1TB capacity, or an SSD ranging from 128GB to 256GB. This one has a DVD burner, two recent USB-A ports (5Gbps), two older USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, an SD card slot, and an HDMI output.
