AT&T announces HTC One X+ and HTC One VX: specs and features

Publish date: 2022-04-11

Today in the UK, HTC revealed what has to be their worst kept secret, the often-rumored HTC One X+.

The victim of endless leaks and counter-leaks, the HTC One X+ is, no surprise here, a souped version of the acclaimed One X. The device comes with several bumped up specs, including a faster CPU and GPU, 64GB of storage (nope, no microSD slot), and a beefier battery. For the full spec rundown, check out our earlier post here. On the outside, the new One X+ is virtually identical to its older brother, save for the new carbon black coating. No word on other paint schemes, which is a shame, especially when you look what HTC did with their Windows Phone lineup.

AT&T’s version of the LTE-equipped One X+ will come with a Tegra 3 processor, instead of the Snapdragon S4 silicon from Qualcomm that powered the original One X. That’s right, Nvidia finally managed to marry their quad-core chip with an LTE baseband chip, and not a moment too soon.

Overall, AT&T’s new HTC One X+ looks like a nice upgrade over the One X, but it remains to be seen how it will fare against vaunted competitors, such as the Galaxy S3, the Note 2, or the Optimus G.

HTC One VX coming to AT&T

Along with the One X+, AT&T also announced a brand new device that’s coming exclusively to their network. The One VX is a solid mid-ranger, that features a dual-core Snapdragon S4, 1GB or RAM, 8GB of storage space, a 5MP camera with ImageSense, and LTE connectivity. AT&T boasted that the One VX has the slimmest profile of any unibody smartphone, at 9.1mm in thickness.

Today’s press release doesn’t shed any light when it comes to the pricing and availability of the HTC One X+ and HTC One VX, but we are sure AT&T will want to have it in store by Christmas, and possibly by Thanksgiving. For now, the official guidance is in “the coming months”.
