Asus launches Asus Transformer Book Trio

Publish date: 2022-09-09

Today, Asus launched the Transformer Book Trio in Berlin. The truly unique device gets its name from the fact the device can be used as laptop, or separately as a tablet and desktop PC. This is courtesy of the fact the the dock keyboard can also be attached to another external display with micro-HDMI or the Mini DisplayPort.

Let’s take a quick look at the specifications of the Asus Transformer Book Trio –

Tablet

PC Station

With the display docked, the Transformer Book Trio can instantly switch between both Android and Windows 8 pressing the dedicated “Trio” key on the keyboard, with data sharing possible between the two operating systems via the internal storage of the tablet. With the ability to use the keyboard dock separately, this essentially means that the Trio can be used as a tablet, as well as a standalone desktop PC simultaneously.

Granted, this isn’t the first we’ve heard about the Asus Transformer Book Trio, since it was first introduced back in June at Computex 2013, but with Asus essentially re-introducing the device once again at IFA 2013, the release is hopefully not too far away. There is no information on the availability or the pricing as of now.

Stay tuned for hands-on images and videos of the Asus Transformer Trio, and don’t forget to check out the rest of our live coverage from IFA 2013
