Amazfit rebrands its app to Zepp: Here's what's changing

Publish date: 2023-01-06

TL;DR

Amazfit is rebranding the app that accompanies its wearables. It will no longer be called the Amazfit app and instead, will be named Zepp. The latter is the name of a California-based multi-sport sensor technology company that Amazfit’s parent Huami acquired back in 2018.

The rebranding of the Amazfit app has already taken effect on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. “In the current brand plan, Amazfit will be a smart wearable hardware product brand, whereas Zepp will be a platform for the management of personal well being that will offer more content in the future,” Huami told Android Authority in an official statement.

Huami also told us that the Zepp app would link to other health-related hardware and services in the future. The changelog of the rebranded app notes that it now supports the recently launched Zepp E smartwatches. It also explains that the goal of the Zepp app is to bring a more comprehensive and professional health management experience to users.

Huami/App Store

We’ve updated the app at our end and there’s really no difference in its functionality, except for some new UI elements. The company says that “your Amazfit devices will continue to work as normal with the renamed and updated app.”
